Wickenburg, AZ: The Town of Wickenburg has hired a new Town Manager named Gary Edwards. Gary Edwards was raised in Phoenix but currently works as the City Manager for Moberly, Missouri. He has a Bachelors Degree in Communications, a Masters in Public Administration and is ICMA Credentialed as a City Manager.

Broadcasting as a news director for radio stations marked the start of his career in broadcasting. He has also taught broadcast journalism classes at the college level. He then switched to politics as Chief-of-Staff and Communications Director in the US House of Representatives from Missouri, North Carolina and Florida. After a decade in Washington DC, he became the Chief-of-Staff to a Lieutenant Governor for Missouri. 

The last 13 years has seen another switch to City Manager positions in Missouri. He was manager at Ste. Genevieve, the oldest European settlement west of the Mississippi, during their epic floods of 1993 and 1995 and oversaw the building of a levee to protect the city. The Mayor said "We have very fortunately greatly exceeded our expectations."  The Council interviewed four very strong candidates and voted unanimously to offer the job to Gary Edwards. He accepted the position and should arrive in Wickenburg in late August.
